CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES
St. Paul's offers numerous activities for children to learn about Jesus. We have St. Paul's Lutheran School where a variety of academia is offered as well as spiritual training for Kindergarten through Grade 8. The School provides instruction in religion, mathematics, language arts, music, science, social studies, health, and physical education. Elective programs such as band, drama, robotics, math logic, church history, Latin, and music or art appreciation are offered in addition to normal academic instruction. The vision statement is "Developing Caring Servant Leaders." Each decision and program of the School revolves around this vision. More information is available on the School page of the website.
Sunday School classes for children age 3 to 8th grade are offered every Sunday: 3 year olds meet at the Early Childhood Center and 4 years old (pre-kindergarten) through 2nd grade meet at our South Campus. The 3rd grade through 8th grade classes meet at the North Campus. Classes provide children with the opportunity to hear Bible stories, sing songs, make new friends, and learn of their Savior, Jesus Christ, in an age appropriate setting.
Little Lambs is a time to meet parents of young children (ages 0-2) in our church family. As a group, Christian education is begun through arts and crafts appropriate for the age level, songs, Bible stories, snacks, and adult discussion time. This informal setting allows parents and children to grow in faith together. Parents are supported and encouraged in their role through the sharing of childrearing and development tips. Little Lambs meets Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Early Childhood Center Room 2. If you are visiting or a new enrollee, please stop by the school office on the appropriate campus for assistance.
At St. Paul's Early Childhood Center, the staff works with young children (ages 10 weeks through 5 years old) and their families as a team, sharing Christ's love with one another while building a Christ-centered foundation. We believe that children have a natural desire to learn about God's world. They are unique creations of God with individual patterns of growth which affect their development. It is our God-given responsibility to encourage all areas of our children's development. Please visit the Early Childhood Center page on the website for more information.
St. Paul's Parents' Day Out is a ministry that provide loving childcare for ages 6 weeks to 5 years old while proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We offer a Christian-based curriculum which includes Bible stories, crafts, music, educational activities, and play time. Please click here for more information.
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) is for moms with infants, toddlers and preschoolers. St. Paul's MOPS group offers a caring atmosphere where a mom is reminded that she is not alone, has an opportunity to share concerns, make friends, explore areas of creativity, and more. While the moms are meeting with other moms, their child(ren) enjoy a safe, nurturing atmosphere with other children of their own ages. MOPS meets the first/third Thursday of each month during the school year. More information is available here.
Vacation Bible School, offered each June, is a summer highlight for children age 3 through Grade 6. During VBS week, kids spend five mornings in a summer-camp like environment where they learn about Jesus, sing Bible songs, explore Bible stories, enjoy energetic skits, make crafts, play games, and more. VBS is truly a community outreach that welcomes friends, family, and neighbors from all over the St. Louis area. On Thursday evening of VBS week, parents are treated to a special celebration program, in which children sing the songs they have learned, and our pastor shares with the audience the exciting lessons of the week; refreshments follow outside. Registration begins mid to late April on the website.
